What kind of day is it?

Cosmic Dancer by T-Rex. That is what kind of day it is. The flooding is bad in Fairfield from the storm... but Al Curtis found a "trail" through the woods that avoids the lake which has overtaken the roads around the office. I'm not supposed to be walking far distances (even with the crutches), but Valentine carried me some of the way. Thanks Val.

I'm hoping to have a dance party like this in the near future.

These guys know how to get the ladies/men to really shake it. But hey- would you expect anything less from the young and ultra-charming Yardbirds?

Fits the day.

The French verse translates to "What I did, that evening, what she said, that evening, fulfilling my hope I throw myself towards glory". And the "FA-FA-FA-FA-FA" is an Otis Redding song. Check it out:

Did you catch that dude at 2:07? Now, HE KNOWS how to get down. Oh, and at 4:53.

Cyril Stinnett- Frisky Jim

There's a rumour that this guy was always using other people's fiddles because he didn't have one of his own:

Somethin' creepy: Eugenics in the early 1900s

Many American don't realize that back in the early 20th century, the Supreme court passed the American Eugenics Movement in order to eliminate any "undesirable" traits from future populations. What did this mean? It meant that over 20,000 people that were found to be " feeble-minded" or "criminals" were sterilized so they were no longer able to procreate. At this time is was considered rational to determine a criminal by the shape of their head (see illustration below). I would strongly recommend checking out this image archive:

a fast facts haiku:

Foot surgery sucks.
The pills give me such weird dreams
Like spider lettuce.

listen to Toots and the Maytals, ya turkey

Almost any morning I am home (and able to walk), I stroll over to my record player and set the needle down on these fine jams. It's such a great way to start the day. And if you are feeling blue, just give them a listen to lift your mood. These guys have some incredible reggae stuff. Check out their albums Funky Kingston, From the Roots, Sweet and Dandy, or any one you can get your mitts on.

Fast Facts:4

Trying to figure out how to get revenge on someone? Just hide some raw shrimp in their house or automobile. In the office? Unhinge the back of their phone and stick a couple of shrimp in there. All you have left to do is play the waiting game.

Cups.... or Bears?

Above is a picture of the constellation Ursa Major. Translation: Big Bear. To most Americans, this is known as the "Big Dipper". Below is a picture of the Big Bear's counterpart , Ursa Minor or Little Bear. He's supposed to be upside-down. This is known as the Little Dipper. For some reason these guys usually have tails.

When seen together, Ursa Major and Ursa Minor forever chasing each others in the sky. There are many myths about the bears. One of my favorites is that they are fleeing from another constellation known as Draco; an unfortunate dragon.

Check out this website for some interesting facts about the Big Bear :
